Pre Internship Blog
This year for Internship, I will be working at Tami Fuller and Associates Real Estate. I'm not too sure what I should expect but, I am very excited to learn more about the real estate world because it's been a huge interests of mine since I was younger. I hope this internship teaches me fundamental skills like: How to be an effective communicator, negotiation skills, networking skills, and just expands my market knowledge. The Picture below is the building I will be working at.

WEEK 1
Describe the culture at your internship, including how people interact, communicate and work together. Post an image that captures that culture.
I am very fortunate to have been accepted into this real estate internship it has been amazing so far. First off, I'd like to acknowledge that I work with my friend Jayden and my internship is at Coldwell Banker West which is the office in Liberty station. This makes the internship experience much easier because I take the bus and so Its convenient to take the same route that I would take to get to school. Aside from that, my first day I was nervous. I wasn't sure what to expect or who I would be working with. A couple days later after meeting the real estate Broker Tami Fuller and her Team, I was really able to see how everyone in that space interacted and communicated with each other in the office. Everyone was comfortable, nice, and very welcoming this created a sense of a community for me. The picture below is when one of Tami's assistants, Samantha helped teach me how to use the printer correctly so I could print flyers for a House showcase that was coming up. A house showcase otherwise known as a "Caravan" (In real estate terms) is when agents collectively visit new or updated listings. Its a chance for professionals to network, share insights, and stay informed on market offerings. The picture below captures that sense of community for me because even though I didn't know much or didn't understand things at times I could always ask of my co-workers for help and they would guide me with no hesitation.

WEEK 2
Blog 1: Describe your internship project. What will you be doing? What will the final product look like? Which skills (academic, creative, technical) will you utilize and/or develop as you do the project. How will the project benefit the organization?
As of right now, we are still in the midst of finding a suitable project for me and Jayden to start. But, After a recent discussion with Tami Fuller we decided that we will sit down on Monday (1/22/24) and have a meeting to figure something out. But Aside from figuring out what our project will be my internship has been great. I've looked at some really nice expensive homes and I've prepared a total of two caravans now. This week caravan was even better than the last! I had front door duty for the first hour and I helped out with the money tree while Jayden was setting up signs around the block to attract guests , so I would welcome In guests and give them flyers to look at that had more information on the house. There is also creative game Tami created we have at all of the caravans called the "Money Tree." The Money tree is a game where you write down an estimate on how much you think the house costs on a notecard, then you can grab an envelope off the tree and open it. There were about 20 envelopes in total, each envelope holding a bill that ranged from 1$,5$,10$, 20$, and one 50$ bill. This caravan someone was lucky enough to get the 50 dollar one. The Picture on the bottom Is an image of the money tree. |
Blog 2: How has or do you see your internship changing the way you consider that paths your future will take? This Internship has been very enlightening and has made it's way into my future plans. I am thinking it would be a good idea to start working in real estate when I turn 18, and while I'm in college as kind of a part time job. This is because that would be a great way for me to get money and more experience while I'm pursuing my education. But, of course this process would take time as I need to get my Real Estate license. To obtain a real estate license in the state of California you must: Complete 135 Hours of Approved Pre-License Education, Pass the Course Final Exam, Pass a Criminal Background Check, Pass the California Salesperson License Exam, Find a Sponsoring Broker to Work Under, Complete Your Licensing Application, and you have to Be 18 at least years old.
